The “news” we see on TV is not real journalism anymore. Today, the corporate-owned media airs manufactures programs to persuade the audience. In other words, they pump propaganda at us. The facts are often distorted and important information is omitted.
Because of this, independent news is on the rise. Many trained journalists who want to report REAL news have left the corrupt corporate media and launched their own online shows. Other popular news shows are being produced by passionate, dedicated individuals who are in fact not “professional” journalists.

Because of the classified documents he published (and the secrets he revealed) JULIAN ASSANGE has been persecuted since 2010.
After initially being confined to house arrest on a supporter's property, Assange was given political asylum at the Ecuadoran embassy in London, to avoid being extradition, and possible execution, in the United Sates. In 2019, after spending seven years within the embassy walls, Assange was arrested. He remains in a British prison, though he has still never been tried or convicted.
